Eyes wide shut

People may say I'm insane
and they may be right
but don't look at me with those eyes
like you know who i am

i may be insane
or i might not
i don't want the world to see me
i don't think that they would understand

people stairing at the girl
who fallen to her knees
no one dares to come close to her
they say she has cooties

Cooties
the 1st grade trouble
the evil kisses
coming from the opposite sex

eyes wide shut
in this narrow minded world
judgmental minds
of only one kind

don't go near the girl
don't be friends with her
don't see who she is
don't be her friend

don't see how beautiful she is
don't notice her smile
watch as she walks past with Innocent eyes
stair as she pases you by

don't give her a second glance
her look will tear through your soul
don't act like you know who she is
from the rumors you hear

eyes wide shut
in this narrow minded world
judgmental minds

but watch the boy help the girl up
watch as he walks her past
giving her a second chance
making her feel like one in a million

the boy who cares for her
who doesn't listen to the lies spread
sees her beauty
sees her death glare as a beautiful sight

judgmental girls
not giving a dam who they talk about
spread the rumors on them
make the tables turn

eyes wide shut

don't let them take advantage of you
make them feel the pain
open your eyes to the truth
listen to what you think is right
