Hope

by Stephanie M.   Oct 24, 2005

You never knew her
You never cared
But one day you realized
She wasn't there
She was a loner
She had no friends
That morning she woke up
She felt it was the end
The kids they'd teased her
about her clothes
But there had been a secret that no one knows
Her mom worked hard but was very poor
Her dad passed away before she turned four
Her life was a mess
No one could cope
That morning she woke up
She gave up hope
A gun in her hand
A note in the other
Which said how much she had loved her mother
The pain went away
Her very last day
The teacher arrives
She says with a sigh
One of your classmates has just died
You look around as no one cries
You can't even believe your eyes
No one knew her
No one cared
No one was sad when they knew She wouldn't be there
You went to her funeral
You were the only kid there
And then you realized
When you touched your eyes
You for the very first time had started to cry
And you said to yourself"Why did she have to die?"
