Blue Eyes

by Silver Wings   Oct 24, 2005

Her eyes were those of angels
Bright but soft and fair
They would make any head turn
For they were hers to share
Even the worst days were wiped away
By the beauty of her eyes
But even they held suffering
Tears that had run dry
But all they could was her bright smile
And those eyes that were so blue
They just knew that she was perfect
With a heart so pure and true
She thought they were crazy
She knew that she wouldn't be that way forever
She would get older as the years would fly by
And sadly her youth would begin to die
She would no longer be beautiful
Her beauty would quickly fade
But she happily pushed the thought away
For right now she held something
That was more important
Then how she would look with each passing day
She rocked backed and forth
As she held that baby girl
And when that little face looked up at her
She smiled in surprise
For what looked back at her
Were those same bright blue eyes
