OWEN (the finale)

by Tristan   Oct 24, 2005

I sat down and cried today
Why did you take my godson
Owen was put in the ground today
the battle of life not won
I wish I understood you lord
And knew just what to say
But now I'm lost and confused,
Hurt, torn and empty.
I wish I could hold him again
To see the way he smiles
I want to hear the way he laughed
He didn't live awhile...
Owen was 2 months old
And yet you still choose him
Over every single criminal-
over everyone who sins
I am not saying he was perfect
But he didn't have a chance
I wanted him to have a better life
Better then I had.
But as I sit here in dismay
The tears run down my face
Why did you take the boy, o God
Is he with you in your place
Why do the Good leave
And the evil are let to live
What is the world coming to
When you take the life of a kid
I wish I understood you God
Maybe it wouldn't be so hard
Death felt so distant...
Now it's not so far.
