Tokens Of Affection

by Jacquie Stewart   Oct 25, 2005

A token of affection,
A memory to hold.
Something that can be bought,
Something that is sold.

Is not the most important thing,
That you will come to find.
Because the real tokens of love,
Are stored in heart and mind.

Memories of the times u spent together,
Of laughter joy and fun.
Will always be apart of you,
No matter what hes done.

No matter how he breaks your heart,
No matter how much you cry.
No matter how hurt you feel,
No matter how much u wanna die.

You'll never forget the good times,
For you they'll always be there.
To brighten up your darkest days,
When no one else seems to care.

And when you find that someone,
That steals your heart away.
Don't think fancy presents,
Are enough to make them stay.

All you need is to love them,
With everything you've got.
For they will never forget you,
Unlike the flowers that rot.

Tokens of affection,
Things that show they care.
Beautiful pearl necklaces,
And pretty things to wear.
