I\'ve Always Been

I've always been selfish, rude and cold,
I've always been scared of the lies I told.
I've always been broken, alone and sad,
I've always thought back to what I had.
Maybe I'm heartless, possessive and wrong,
But without intention for the things I've done.
Maybe I'm fake when desperation feels close,
Remaining unsure of what this shows.
I've never expected or wanted to change,
I've always ran from the thought of a cage.
I've always been loud, outspoken and blunt,
I've always been defensive, aggressive, up front.
I've always been angry, confused and afraid,
I've always been wary of the friends I made.

But when I'm alone, its hard not to cry,
Thats when my soul shines through my eyes,
All the anger and aggression aside,
You need to realize I'm alive inside.
