I'm Sorry Mom, Since It's All My Fault.

Standing by your side with tears,
As I close my eyes to your anger,
And I feel the hard blow to my cheek,
falling to the ground, where it's colder.

My fists clenched tightly,
And my mouth kept shut,
I open my eyes to see,
Blood oozing from another cut.

Knocked over on my back,
Your foot collided with my ribs,
Just tell me that it's over;
Just let me live like a normal kid.

Pains shoot through my legs,
As your foot bruises my bones.
The tears sting the wound you made,
With your wedding ring's diamond stone.

My lips let out a sigh of angst,
And your screams shiver down my spine,
I'm sorry, mom, that this is all my fault,
And that I made daddy blind.

Blind to the fact that you loved him,
I'm sorry he left you here with me.
I know these bloody cuts and black bruises,
Are a release to your feelings, so angry.

For so long my tears have poured out,
To replace the ones you refuse to shed,
The ones you can't bare to let go of now;
It's the reason that I have always bled.

No, you don't give me a band aid for these wounds,
As your fists come down on me again,
There's no kisses better like other kids get,
All you want me to feel is the pain.

You want me to feel your pain for you,
And this seems hardly fair to me.
Slowly my life cuts out and fades away,
As my blood seeps and you don't even feel sorry.

But I do, mom, I feel sorry, because apparently this is my fault,
According to you, this is all my fault,
So mom, I'm sorry.
