Of All The Lies

by Katie Bennett   Oct 26, 2005

Look into my eyes
And tell me that you love me
Swear to me right now
You put no one else above me
Tell me I'm your girl
And that you will never leave
Feed me lies and watch me cry
Watch my broken heart bleed
Tell me I'm your world
And that you need me so
Tell me I'm your everything
And that you'll never go
Lie to me like you have before
This is no different then back then
Break my heart and make me realize
What never should've been
Feed me all the lies you've got
Cause I've heard them once before
But this time it's different
Cause I wont believe you anymore
Of all the lies ever said
Nothing could be farther from being true
And whats funny is you believed it
When I told you I loved you

I liked the development of this poem.

For the first 5 lines or so, it could be taken as a nice little love poem. Then comes "feed me lies" (I liked that use of language) which turns everything around. By the end of the poem, you revealed your own dishonesty and therefore revenge, against him.

The poem reads smoothly, testifying to your own good skills.

My only criticism would be the poem didn't jump out at me. I didn't think "WOW! Brilliance!"
It did, however, evoke mushy emotions at the start. If there was a 4.5 button, that's what I'd rate it.

As of now, I'm giving you a 5, because it IS a decent write. Nice one :-)
