Rainbow to Night

You were like an iridescent light
shining like a rainbow
Now you're like the shadows in the night
Not even the slightest glow

You would pray on everything
Anything you thought of
Now you're the one who needs the prayer
For you and all the things you love

You were like the auroral dawn
You were the gold the best color of all
Now you're like the dark gray clouds in the sky
Someday you'll look back on yourself and ask why

You are so rebellious
So distant and so far
The only thing that describes you now
Is the brilliant, distant stars
