She is a pale red rose...
A lone effigy of innocence in a world of ice...
The moon casting its luminescent glow upon her...
Radiating beauty to all who view her...

I watch her bloom as the sun rises atop the mountains each day...
Warming these stone steppes with its warmth...
Then my soul is consumed by flame as she disappears into the night...
And each time she leaves me, I am left but a pile of ashes...

But regardless of how much pain I must endure...
I find myself drawn to her everyday...
If only to be close to her for one last time...
Yet each day she lifts me from the ashes once more...

Although I must die every time she leaves me...
I feel safe in the knowledge that she will be back...
Back to lift me from the ashes that suffocate me...
And I would be lost without you...

not my normal sort of writing....
but i dedicate this to my erin....
