This Is Living

by Ixora   Oct 27, 2005

Another sad poem, written on another line
A clear little statement,Of this pain i call mine
Another day i hated, beside a fading light
And hid with a smile, into the night
another day I'm alive, breathing this air
laughing with people, like any of us care
when time comes and goes, emotions will churn
as the bottle spins again, now its my turn
play the devils game, will it be truth or dare
you'll loose either way, because life is never fair
Just wipe those tears away, paste a smile that will fit
Pretend like you're strong, like you're not willing to quit
tell all your friends you hate him, and that you're friendship is bull
you can never trust each other, with all the sh it that you pull
But for some reason you live, not wanting to die
hiding your cuts, and unable to cry
And when the night finally comes, and the dream world awakes
you start to reflect, and realize all your mistakes
if it wasn't for morning, you would probably go insane
because no one can survive, just thriving on pain
if it wasn't for the confusion, and the will to somehow try
you'd probably give up, you'd probably already die
if it wasn't for the dreams, the desires that we make
the porcelain smile that we paint, would probably just break
maybe if we found the truth, we would all start giving
but for now we're stuck in a land of words, and this is simply living

-wrote this during typing class at school...felt bad that i didn't post anything for a while so here's a crappy thing thrown together because i didn't feel like typing...

First...I want to thank you for putting into words what I can't. This poem was a relief...that I'm not alone. Once again...a beautiful poem.
