A Walk In The Park

by Carol Davis   Oct 27, 2005

Everyday I walk through the park on
my way to work.
Each and everyday there is this lady sitting
on the bench.

Her head in her hands and whimpering softly.
Her hands look of age.
About a month I walk past and without sound I
look on.

This morning on my way to work, I didn\'t see her there?
I kinda ponder for a second and walk on.
The next morning I heard a whimper again.
I looked past the bench and she was cross-legged.
Looing up towards heaven.

I pondered again of why she whimpers to heaven.
Was it she has lost her love and she too wanted to
be in heaven?
Two months have past and each day she sits with her head
in her hands.
That next morning I went to her and asked are you
ok Mam.

I was in shock when she said, I have been waiting
here over the last year.
My daughter told me she would be here, but she has
never come.
Each morning I come here asking the Lord to bring her
home to me.

Each day she has never returned.
I won\'t give up till the day we reunite.
I went on my way and I thought this lady is very persistant.
The next morning I didn\'t she her sitting on the bench.
I thought well maybe the Lord brought her daughter home.

I went out of my way for some reason this cold morning.
I wanted something to drink and I looked up there she was
on the friday news stand.
It read her name Lady Of Hope past away this morning from
grief.

I was saddened that she has past on.
Now this park is so lonely as I walk on.
Tears flow down my cheecks knowing she will never
see her daughter till it is her time to go.
The leaves lightly fall and the birds sing a soft melody.
The wind blows to the soft tunes, she will be missed.
Every morning tears flow within my heart knowing she went
to her grave of missing her daughter.
