Our Love Was A One Way Street

by Renee   Oct 27, 2005

I'm so proud of you, it seems you've got your life together.
And I thank the one who got you out of that bad weather.
Wishing it could be me; well I'll thank the seas
because it seems the currents never change.

My heart was on a one way street to your stop sign.

So help me get this damned thing in reverse,
before I crash into love, and this already hurts.
But I see you've got your shiny limousine,
so let me save some gas, because the prices have gone insane.

Stop at the side of the road and hope hitchhiking is legal,
maybe get a ride to an available heart.
I'll pray to God that in yours I had a little part,
but I need more; I need love.

Don't take it harsh the words I write in this song,
you have been -the- best, you've done nothing wrong.
I could never hate you for continuing to live your life,
I guess it's just time I did the same with mine.

I still love you...but I've -got- to move on.
