Helpless thoughts,
useless attempts,
people say they care,
but they may never see
the hurt hidden behind her fake smile,
no one could possibly understand
what she went though
no one could understand
how it feels to not have friends
for so many years
not have anyone to confide in
no one to show they care,
molested by her cousin
when she was only 8
she was forced to give him oral pleasure
she's constantly scared for her life
even now when she actually has friends
actually has people that care
they'll never understand
why she shakes when she is touched
why she has been known to freak
when someone touches her unknowingly
you couldn't comprehend
why she feels the way she does,
she is 16 now
just started to get friends,
has many people close to her
many promises made to her friends
but she's made one promise she just can't keep
she's hurting so much inside..
and everything falls so deep within her
that she can't even think straight most days.
sometimes she's not even sure if she's alive of dead.
and she can never express herself to her friends.
or the councilors that her parents force her to attend
they just make her worse.. make old memories reappear
she's dug herself into a hole so deep
that it's like she's on the other side of the world
caught up in all this pain
the medications.. they don't help her
they can't help her get her life off the ground.
people say they understand
and that they've went threw the same things
they seem to think they can help
when if they did go threw the same things
they would know that she is the only one that can help herself
help herself get rid of the pain
help herself stop making the rivers flow
she couldn't keep the promise to her friends.
they're flowing again
she doesn't know how much longer she can last...
