Can you look into my eyes
And see what I feel?
Can you tell by my smile
That this life I live is real?
Gray skies send clouds of mists
As the tears in my eyes mimick the rain,
The weather outside seems to know how I feel
Seems like it feels the same pain.
My tears flow at the same pace as the rain
First slow, then faster and faster,
Like a valley, drowning in water
Caused by a terrible disaster.
Painted on is my smile
Under this mask I hide,
Surrounded by a fake sunlight
I am lost in a sea of lies.
My sunshine is dull
It gives off no more light,
I am weak, defensless
How do I find strength to fight?
There's a soft embrace
I feel warmth on my skin,
There's a voice in my ear
Asking where have I been.
I look in his eyes
And a spark ignites in my soul,
All the gray clouds disappear
It is no longer cold.
My smile has returned
It's no longer fake,
All my tears have stopped flowing
The valley emerges, no longer a lake.
The sun peeks through
The sunshine mimicks my smile,
My smile is real
Something it hasn't been for a while.
