Thanks Grandpa For Being There For Me...

I called Grandpa on the phone,
While feeling the need to cut,
When I felt inside all alone.

I read the poem to him,
"Don't Think I'm Not Listening,"
While things were dim.

He asked where,
I learned to write good poetry,
Seeming to care.

I learned from you,
While listening,
To what you do.

Then......

He spoke comforting words,
In which I will never forget,
The words I then heard.

I told him I felt like taking my life,
From all the trials,
I cannot any longer seem to strife.

I also told him a promise,
That I made to my therapist,
I can no longer keep this.

I'm trying my best,
I feel like I need to cut,
When I'm depresed.

He told me no matter what,
He will be there for me,
When I feel like I need to cut.

He told me he will always,
Love me, no matter what,
When I have gloomy days.

He told me when I go to bed,
Think of him hugging me,
And, not wanting to be dead.

Thanks Grandpa,
For Being There For Me,
If It Wasn't For You,
I Don't Know Who I'd Be.

    u wrote it wonderfully
    i can relate to this poem very much, i don't cut but i'm very close to my grandma and she helps me very much and she's always there for me with my grandpa
