Real Me

Tonight will be the night
That I put on the dress
Made-up and beautiful
Like all the rest

I will put on a smile
Thats pretty but fake
And act so happy for all the pictures
My parents will take.

I will dance the night away
With my lovely date.
The one whom I secretly
Really do hate.

I'll love to be there
With all of my friends
Really I will be counting down
Until the night ends.

Then I will stand there
With the Homecoming Court.
Presenting a fake speech,
Thanking my friends for their support.

So then they will place
The crown upon my hear
All the while wishing I was
Someone else instead

So I will be the made up girl
They all want me to be
But no one will ever get to know
The real me.
