Blinded friends

by Lady Vengeance   Oct 29, 2005

Remembering the times of old
Don't go there again
Let me lie here in a trance
I can just pretend

Don't remove the flakes of dust
That symbolise my hate
You and me, we were great friends
Until that one debate

A "conflict of interests" was the phrase
We agreed it wasn't a fight
A moral standard issue
Where both believed were right

Why do you bring it up again?
The way it got so cruel
Right and wrong became insignificant
Hatred was our new fuel

I guess I'm the one possessing the box
Lined velvet within its walls
Secrets burning holes in the side
Echoing violent calls

Yes, it had to end some way
It couldn't just continue
Now she's waiting at pearl gates
This proves her choices few

We made her do it in a way
Two friends who couldn't agree
A fight that we thought was our loss
But that was not to be

I know I was the one to end it
I know I did it wrong
Now I get back what I did
I knew it wouldn't take long

She chose to kill herself
That is what they said
We do not believe in that
We got in her head

Asking her to join us
Forget about the other
Cruel and heartless scheming
She started to smother

Walking down the path in black
A mourning of her death
White lilies on her coffins top
She's taken her last breath

For her we thought long and hard
Too late, maybe so
But if she knew we had found peace
She might not have to go

To this day we do regret
Pressuring her mind
Forcing her to choose a friend
Amidst her own life's grind

Take my word and stop and think
About the ones around you
Maybe there's a troubled soul
Of that you hardly knew
