A Prayer To A Lost Love

by Anthony   Oct 29, 2005

Screaming into darkness,
Hoping that you'll hear.
Just keeping my distance,
Wishing you'll come near.

I only hear your voice,
But there's nothing I can see,
Just a disembodied voice,
A face you'll never be.

Surrounded by the darkness
That consumed your fragile heart.
I fear I'm not a man,
Afraid to fall apart.

When will you appear?
When can I see your face?
Until my prayer is answered,
This pain just won't erase.

    "A face you'll never be."

I believe this line really pulled the whole poem together. In fact, it was my most favourite.
