Butterfly

by Truest Lies   Oct 29, 2005

Light at the end of tunnels,
Glowing in my eyes,
Butterfly landing on my bare shoulder,
Tickling my ear with its wings,
And I remember,
You were once a caterpillar too,
A thing of unimportance,
But you showed your true colors,
And I will too.
With every breath I ensure another day for me,
My mind and body,
My special traits,
Which I will pass on to my offsprings,
Must be conserved now,
So I flex my fingers of creativity,
And prepare to write a story,
One of many,
To make this imagination last,
Not to waste this all,
Like a shattered glass,
But to maintain the talent,
And hope my children have it too.
Its just a smile,
Its my character,
To be able to be happy,
While suffering,
To be joyful,
Through the good and the bad,
To maintain the happiness,
Even while I feel sad.
I hope that my future family,
Has this too.
And like a butterfly,
They can know what its like to open your wings for the first time,
And take flight.
