No place like home

by Mel   Oct 29, 2005

As this girl looks down life's highway,
she unfolds the path to walk
Dampened by the things that they say
Finding fragrance from their talk

One step stretched out on the footpath
another slowly trails behind
softened by the jealousy wrath
The girl beneath she longs to find

Paces down the road she's on now
looking ahead with cheery eyes
she's made it this far, though not sure how
Erasing all the hurt and lies

so much further on her pathway
whispers call her further in
behind her, starts to fade away
Feeling now like she can win!

One more step, and she has made it
a needle to the sheltered dome
depression parted, and now split
Cause finally she's made it home
