The Best Friend

by You already take me there...   Oct 30, 2005

Well you lied straight to my face
Said in your heart I had no place
After all the tears I wiped away
You chose to make it end this way

I lifted you up when you were depressed
Helped you clean up when your life was a mess
But you won't solve any problems of mine
Because that would be a waste of your time

You chose to trust your enemy
When the one who really cared was me
And the thanks for doing what I must
Was you throwing me out into the dust

You stabbed me hard into the back
Because of all the things I lack
You forgot about the things I do
Well don't forget this--I am through

You broke my heart too many times
It hurts that you're a friend of mine
Well that's no more, because it's grown old
Now it's your turn to be left in the cold

So don't expect me to give you advice
Someone else's will have to suffice
Cause always remember when things get bad
That you lost the best friend you ever had
