U said so many promises that you couldn't even keep,
and now that i know they were all lies its cutting me real deep,

i knew from the start what i was getting into,
but i gave you a chance in hopes that you would love me the way that i loved you,

but i finally realized that i cant let my heart get the best of me,
no matter how much i wanted it to work it just wasn't meant to be,
