If i

by libby   Oct 30, 2005

I've got my cell phone in my left front pocket
I'm kind of hoping that you might call it
Maybe I won't even pick it up
And if I do, I'll hang up on you

I've had my sleepless nights
And something feels like this isn't right
If I act stuck up maybe you can't tell
How I really feel

On the computer, my away message on
It's got the lyrics to my favorite song
I hope you read it, then you'll know that I'm
Giving up on you

I've had my nights of pain
In the morning, a hangover of shame
If I act stable maybe you won't know
That I really might fall apart

Sitting outside again, all alone
When you come out I think I'll just go home
This awkward silence, nowhere to turn
Nowhere is safe, nowhere is real

I've had my nights of bliss
Culminating in nothing but this
This feeling that if I look away
You won't see me
