Living In Hope

by Vic   Oct 30, 2005

I wake, the morning rays touching my face.
There's nothing I"m looking forward to today.
I'm sad at the fact that I'm alone.
I sit at my desk... and begin to write a poem.
Phases of emotions flow through my mind.
I close my eyes... trying to leave things behind.

I hear laughter, and it's coming from outside.
What else could possibly water my eyes?
I look out my window and I see her waiting.
I smile to see she's happily waving.
She makes me feel like I'm invincible.
Just being around her... nothing is impossible.
I feel the warmth inside, knowing we're here together.
I'd gladly do anything and everything for her forever.
We can go anywhere we want, we'll let our dreams fly.
I'd give her anything, she's made me the happiest guy.
Movies, park, beach, boat.
I'd give her all she wants and so much more.

All day I'm happy just seeing her smile.
Her laughter also keeps me going a while.
I'm motivated by her to do all sorts of things.
This kind of feeling is so amazing.
I can't tell her how much I love her, though.
So my only option now is to show it.
It's unbelievable, nothing is good enough for her.
Nothing is as elegant as this fascinating girl.

How is it that she happened to be with me?
I don't care, I just feel very lucky.
The day flies by and it's time to say goodbye.
I see sadness swimming in her eyes.
I promise there's always tomorrow to look for.
We'll be together again, we'll love each other more.
I spread my arms open, awaiting her embrace,
And accept it, as my heart begins to race.
I'm so glad this relationship isn't fake...
Then my alarm rings, and I suddenly awake.

I'm so utterly disappointed, and more so I'm sad.
I want to go back to that dream that I just had.
That's all it was: a dream, and I can't live that life.
I'm tortured inside, and I see the calling knife.
I let it go, knowing I won't be able to.
I finish the poem, and on it says "I Love You"
I go back to bed, knowing your face I'll never see.
So I go back to my dream world... where you belong with me...
