Love and Happy endings

by Tasha   Oct 30, 2005

You have stolen everything that was once significant
I have uncommitted myself to this dying romance
That we were foolish enough to call love
But yet, that remains unimportant

All that you've left me standing here with
Is the lies and broken promises you left behind
I have undying sympathy
For whoever stumbles upon your presence next

Because this cruel, dark world is fun of turns
Nothing is for sure, and nothing is right
But nevertheless, I will remain loyal.
Because I cannot sink down to that level

Love and happy endings are overrated
Because they do not exist
They are merely a fantasy that someone created
In the hopes that it might actually mean something

But they were wrong; Because love dies
And happy endings, are never very happy
Society has converted us into thinking
That maybe there's a chance of hope
And that one day, you will live happily ever after

If love and happy endings are real
Then why does life seem hopeless
Why am I living out this tortured, unending pain?
Dare I ask, where is my happy ending?
