Baby Girl

by Princess09   Oct 30, 2005

My baby girl
has grown up so fast
she is changing quickly
and her innocence will not last

she is meeting new people
and making more friends
they are taking my place
when i am supposed to be there until the end

she is spending more time with them
and loosing track of me
our beautiful friendship
i can hardly see

my baby girl
got into alcohol and weed
her innocence is leaving
at an unbelievable speed

these friends are giving her chances
to ruin her life
it is like she is dying
and they are holding the knife

i want to be there for her
so she can see her destiny
show her life isn't misserable
it is what you make it be

my baby girl
i no longer know
she changed so quickly
when i moved too slow

This is the second piece i've read from you and this touch me greatly. i think many can relate from this poem. it voices out a situation that happens so frequently. though i'm no parent but this made me think of how difficult it is to be parent and how great they are! =D
