A girl named Lily

by Holly Nicole Williams   Oct 31, 2005

There was once a girl named Lily
She stood about five foot two
She believed in a love everlasting
She believed in a dream come true.

She dreamed of the perfect boy
To set her heart a race
She believed in an all consuming joy
She even dreamed of his face.

He finally came one day
He entered her life with a smile
He took her breath and heart away
Finally, her wait was worth her while.

He made her believe that he would
always be by her side
So surely this must be true?
He became so embedded in her life
He changed her whole point of view.

"I no longer love you," he said to her oneday.
All of a sudden, there was a whole different path in which he wanted to take
So he gave her one last kiss goodbye
and he went along his way.

Lily was heart broken
She didn't know what she did wrong
Were there words left unspoken?
She felt she can no longer stay strong.

Lily now lives with a permanent frown
She has no tears left to cry
No one can ever bring her down
She will never let anyone close enough again to try.

What happened to Lily
Who stood about five foot two
The one who believed in a love everlasting
and in a dream come true?
