This World of Ours

We are human,
The most intelligent of all.
Wait, that cant be right,
With this downfall.

Let me think,
What animals kill for fun?
Not sharks or spiders,
I can only think of one.

Over 10 000 people died by gunshot last year,
In America alone,
When I hear those numbers,
I dont want to call earth my home.

We kill animals until they are near extinct,
Just for fun,
What animals do that?
I can only think of the one.

Are we modern day people more advanced then the cavemen?
Maybe not, they didnt kill for fun back then.
We have these wars again and again,
I hope this will all stop, but I dont know when.

Ok, you say war is to protect,
But what about the unneeded deaths?
We need to stop killing off everybody else,
Before we finally kill ourselves.
