MOM

by Christina   Nov 1, 2005

You use to be strong, nothing stood in your way.
I remember us being together like it was yesterday.
I remember when I was 5 years old, and Gary came home late.
You and him were fighting and he punched you in the face.
I was screaming and crying and I didnâ??t know what to do.
You fell to the floor, and I remember saying mommy I love you.
Then we met Daddy and everything was great.
Remember the times you would cook on the grill, and you would always burn the steaks.
Or the time that I pulled your hair, and you got so mad.
So you would hold me down and lick my face, it was the funnest I ever had.
What about the time we went to Branson and stayed in a hotel over night.
Those were the good ol days,
Everything felt right.
And remember the time we went to Arkansas, me, you, Ashley, and Liz.
We rode in your little truck and we could barely fit.
But those are the good times and I cant bring them back.
I just wish things could still be like that.
As much as I want to live with you, I know you wont change.
Because you still insist on thinking you have to lie about everything.
You dont have to say thing nor prove yourself to me
Youre my mom and I love you unconditionally.
