Climbing

by Jemma   Nov 1, 2005

A peak stretches out in front of me
A snaking path leading up and up
My feet follow its trail
My heart has already reached the top

Rays of light glisten and glitter
Hit the sky with triumph
Clouds outcast, exiled
Sun graces the green mount

The river wriggles in valleys far below
Distant lands of the farmers
Etched into the countryside
With the dark clots of building
