The Mirror of Lies

by Avrii Monrielle   Nov 1, 2005

Look inside this ancient mirror
To see a different face
Of another time zone
One more varied place

Look at your eyes
Your once smooth skin
Your once congenial hair
What has happened?

Open your mouth
What do you see
Is it not the mark
Of tyranny?

I see fangs
Instead of marveled canines
As you peek
Into the mirror of lies

Empty eyes
An unknowing gaze
As your steel heart
Just obeys

Hiss and curdle
What do I care?
All I know
Is I don't want to share

Please break the mirror
It gives me such lies
And this way
I have no alibis

You have become unhuman
Just like me
The mirror of lies
Entirely

Snap it to the ground
Make it have a sickened crash
Blood pours out
As you blink an eyelash

The mirror of lies
Is a bothered curse
Tell it goodbye
Before it does...

The worst.
