I was in somewhat of the same situation
I am a single mother and the father is not there in any way it's a very hard road to do it all by yourself and even though its hard you need to let him know let him decide what to do. good luck in everything

I dont really know what to say....you just need to give him the poem....and tell him that he needs to read it alone!!! need anymore advice let me know!!
