Instead

You thought he loved you
instead he beat you
you thought he cared
instead he left you scared
you thought you could depend on him
instead he let you down
you thought he would help you when you fell
instead he sent you straight to hell
you thought he would comfort you
instead he filled your mind with discontent
you thought you were alive in the comfort of your bed
instead he left you lying dead
you thought you could count on a man!
i see you too have become one of the fallen.
