Words Of Hurt

by Lu   Nov 2, 2005

Beauty does not lay on just exterior skin
but deep inside of my heart beating , within

Beating my self esteem into the ground
in my desperate attempt to lose another pound

Cruel remarks how this person sees me
burning my heart to the second degree

He's just an old man , set in his way
being my elder, doesn't make it okay

Cruelty of words sharp as an attack
once in the air , can never be taken back

I once thought you were kind and sweet
how does a mean spirited heart even beat

In a matter of time , I will laugh in your face
I am not a quitter , I will not sink in your disgrace

You are only a customer , a meaningless part of my life
yet the sting of your remark , about cutting it off with a knife

I will lose the weight , in the end be the winner
doing it for me , now I'm sixteen pounds thinner

Forty-four more to go , my husband by my side
fueling my hunger with love , my devoted partner on the ride
