Phantom of Her Dreams

by Taylor Renee   Nov 2, 2005

Their love was impeccable
The kind very few find
It was said that nothing could ruin it
But life's not that kind

She begged him to stay
As he told her where he was moving
It was about 1,300 miles away
She knew what it meant, his voice no longer soothing

He said he loved her and always would
As she watched him drive away
She knew he'd never come back
No matter what they wouls say

She remained faithful
His love for her she treasured
The distance was too much for him
His trust was shortly measured

He couldn't bare it anymore
Guilt was what he felt
As he called to tell her of a girl he'd met
What horrors he then dealt

She knew it would hppen
She showered herself with blames
A love that was so pure
Now gone up in flames

Every night she dreamt of him
Only to wake in a cold sweat
Punishing herself by making a new slit
For every time in her dreams they met

Her life is slowly coming to an end
Life's no longer what it seems
Now he's nothing to her
But the Phantom of her Dreams
