Remember how...

by Avrii Monrielle   Nov 3, 2005

I come back to this old school
From many years ago
So many, even when I was younger than half my life
How come we grew apart
Is sometimes a mystery
But I guess we had our ways
And they all turned out...different.
But remember how all I could do
Was talk about "love"?
I was so naive
I did not know what love was
But I did have it
It was the thing many call "extremely young love"
Both of us five
To six
To seven
I was your friend
It felt like heaven
I went to your house
So many times
And yet now
I can remember you crying
A first boyfriend
Can you believe
You were the only one
Who stole my heart first?
Extremely young...
But remember how I told you and someone else
That whoever won the race could marry me?
I was so little,so silly...
But old habits die hard, and I fear it's never gone away
So yeah..
Remember how we would always play
At our playground
Even if it rained?
Remember how I held your hand
And smiled as we swung our arms?
It felt good...
I remember so well
Of this truly first love
And it lingers in my thoughts still
I remember your mom treating me like I was family
Giving me all the girl clothes
Because she never had a daughter
It was nice
I remember that wonderful ice cream
That small kid movie
Even your little brother
So yeah
I still remember how...
Everything was...
