You don't but you did

by Lindsey Bosse   Nov 3, 2005

I understand when they say "don't do drugs",
I understand when they say "don't have sex",
I understand when they say "go to bed sweetie"
But when your own parents look you in the eye and tell you to stop being my friend
When they tell you that your best friend is dangerous and could bring you down
You don't listen
But you did
And it hurt
So bad
I understand when they say "she tried to kill herself"
I understand when they say "she has a nose ring"
But when your own parents say that my problems are going to hurt you and that they are going to bring you down
You don't listen
But you did
And it hurt
So bad Alexis
