Daddy left
And i heard you cry
You said you wouldn't
And i know how hard you tried.

But at night, my eyes wide open
I heard the sobbs, i heard the sighs
You were quiet and you whispered
"Oh why did he have to die?"

You said he left at night
But he'll be with us forever
Daddy was ill, he lost his sight
But he still called us beautiful and clever.

I feel depressed and all alone
My face is wet from all the tears.
I'm waiting by the phone
And wondering who'll now take away my fears.

I wait for daddy to be home
But you say he'll never come
You said that daddy died
He died last night.
