Fears Legacy

by President Dead   Nov 3, 2005

Fear is the black cloud,
That stalks you in the light,
Fear is the dark shadow,
That follows you through the night.

Fear is the endless torrent,
That flows under your door,
Fear is the shadow of hope,
That will last forevermore.

Fear spreads like fresh blood over flesh,
Like a cold knife of deceit,
Those who try to run from fear,
Their struggles are discreet.

Very dark, in reading I could almost hear a ominous voice whispering the words. This poem sends a shiver up your spine. Very well written, I like the rhyming scheme and cannot fault the length and structure. This poem is one of my favourites.
