This is great.Very impressive. The emotion of leaving home, of love and loss, that feeling of displacement or alienation, you capture so much in so short a poem.I love the last stanza-spoken like a true lost soul(like so many of us feel sometimes).I can tell you from experience and like Thomas Wolfe(I think it was him-may be wrong) said"You can't go home again".You can but it's never the same. But we can move on and forge a new life.Hope and dreams and passion are the sustenance of the poet.Don't ever lose that.Great poem. |
P.S.-A little tidbit of wisdom-Save your regrets not for the things you did, but for those you did not. |
Awww...aaron....this poem makes me really sad....and idk why...it has this feeling of just being extremly lost....but look, my family has changed a lot too and not in good ways, change is just, well, unfortunatley an inevitable thing. i know when u go home things will never be the same, but u know what, at least u'll be home. ok, hoping all is well....im serious. |

I still don't know if you really feel like this, but please i don't know how much to stress this smile!! You may think i don't know and i am too young to understand, but i have been throgh soo much and i was depressed at one point in my life and recently started looking at the good instead of the bad. I think it makes me a better person, and it might do the same for you!! |
