Rain covers the field
You lie peacefully in your final bed
The misty morning air
surrounds us
The hint of smoke
makes me cough
but when i see you lying there
i can barely breathe
the pebbles crunch
beneath my shoes
and i walk to you
to bid my final farewell
your off to a better place
yes i realize that
but you left too soon
there are too many secrets
that go untold
too many memories
yet to be had
your smell will soon disappear
from the fibers of my clothes
and your dreams will fade
