Our time stands still

The night hits slowly when your alone,
Each minute seems like an hour,
Trying anything to pass time,
But it all fails and times stands still,
You run through my mind,
We got lost in each others eyes,
Connected on another level of some kind,
After carefully thinking I know that we can never be,
It sounds wrong but I had to run and hide,
For sure it was only for all the right reasons,
You may think my heart is cold,
I assure you this was not suppose to happen,
Im sorry but I have my own road I must drive,
I am thankful for we have crossed paths though,
For our time stands still and my heart ceases,
Forever I have to let you go,
