The First Step

by Bill Turner   Nov 4, 2005

I have loved you for more than a year
You captured my heart
Your sultry voice I did hear
Wanting to be with you from the start

I told you all about me
I did not know why
I felt my heart breaking free
Beginning to fly

I wanted to profess my love for you
I stopped because you were married
I did not know what to do
These feelings would not stay buried

When you were born, I was twelve years old
That never once stopped you
Stating your love loud and bold
Deep inside I already knew

Now we are building our life
Putting it all together
In our hearts husband and wife
Living and loving forever

I really like how this poem flows so beautifully. It tells a story I believe happening to you. The love, the emotions, I feel like I'm experiencing them too. Vivid and felt.
