Burnout

by Stumbling Shaman   Nov 4, 2005

A single reed in a spiritual desert
Out of place, unable to face
The harsh reality of this world
Alone, uprooted, soon to be dust
Angels weep for a soul
That weeps only for us

Born into this life
He only wished to heal
The damage we have done
To Gaia, to one another
In the name of greed and a desire to control
All that we choose to misundersand

But where is one to start?
For every one embracing Light
A thousand more prefer the dark
The sun will rise tomorrow
But too many will not rejoice
Abandoned to a life of endless suffering

2000 years on,
The innocent are still sacrificed
But the dead rise no more
