ANOTHER ONE (365 Cliches A Year)

by Gary Jurechka   Nov 4, 2005

It's hard to put a shirt on
with a knife in my back,
shoulder pads just don't hold up
the weight of the world,
the thorn in my side
lets the blood seep through,
but not as much as you'd get
from squeezing a stone,
it's hard to walk the thin line
carrying a ball and chain,
I know where I'm going
but don't know where I'm at,
only that you can't get there
from here and no matter
how much I wish the day would end,
it never does,
it just turns into
another one.
