Life Within My Flower Garden

by Lu   Nov 5, 2005

Oh my pretty , pretty ones
babies I've tended to from seed
gently nourishing your soil
protecting you from weed

You gracefully break the surface
showing life up through the earth
bring pride and tranquility
to my soul at your birth

I surrounded you with rocks
painted a pretty pink
sprinkled you with water
a thirst quenching drink

I sit beside your beauty
as day turns into night
mesmerized by your colors
of purple , pink and white

How you've grown into a family
daisies and marigolds intertwined
never a more magnificent sight
to the eyes of all mankind

Oh my beautiful flower garden
flourished beneath my watchful eye
your blooms destined to soon shed
through sorrowed tears I say good-bye

November has brought cold
frost , the end to your year
but I'll see you all next summer
when you magically reappear
