The BRIGHT side

by Stephen Ho   Nov 6, 2005

We fill the lines of our pad, expressing our sorrowful emotions,
Page by page nothing but revealing our secret devotion;
To the ones (friend) we have love and affection for,
As we're too afraid 2 let them know, thus writing forevermore,
BUT aren't you tired of rhyming over the same old story?
How we're too afraid to let them know we love them eternally?
Instead of building up bravery; declaring our feelings personally,
We cowardly draw our frustrations through a diary, poetry,
Self-pity is appealing for only so long in the rhymes we create,
Soon our words of art appear to be full of misery, pessimism and hate.

Lets not 4get:

As I suffer in silence, I do not suffer alone,
Others too travelling the same journey, trying to capture the throne,
The throne is the heart, of the one you truly care for,
Dying to break that silence, sharing your intimate thoughts,
If you are too never know then it is nobodys fault but mine,
The consolation? You're still my friend, the bottom line,
I'm grateful to witness the way you smile, the way you laugh,
And as I always said, with you, "I save the best till last",
Everything I do for you, shows how much you mean to me,
The tears I've caused you, show how much I mean to thee,
The love/hate relationship between us, only once in a lifetime,
Let me not take friendship 4 granted, look on the BRIGHT SIDE!!
