Puzzle of life

by Ali   Nov 6, 2005

I stare at the puzzle before me,
trying to fit the pieces together, just like my life,
trying to make things work,
make them feel right,
put me at ease,
so why if the pieces fit,
does everything feel so wrong,
jagged and rough,
i can feel the misery around my edges,
filling the unfilled spaces of my puzzle,
I can't make it come together right,
or maybe right doesn't equal happiness,
maybe right doesn't leave you feeling warm inside,
or maybe this puzzle,
laid out before me across the floor,
doesn't represent my life,
maybe its nothing,
nothing at all.

Wow, powerful, you made me wonder about this line 'maybe right doesn't equal happiness'. It's kind of true. You voice out a situation happens so frequently in our lives, thanks for penning it down, where I can relate to. lol. Back to the poem, the use of puzzle to describe life is great, and the way you did it, wonderful! But I feel that here or there, somehow, the flow is disturbed a little. Maybe it's just me, if that is so, ignore me. :) Anyway, great write.
