What Is A Mother

by lacy byrum   Nov 6, 2005

A vision of loveliness
Such an appealing glow,
The smile inside sadness
Where sorrow grows,

Her red beamed hair
So additive in color,
Even the beauty of the ocean
Can't compare to my mother.

The appearance of an ANGEL
A DEVIL in disguise,
So weak and uncertain
Yet gentle and wise,

From the tip of her toes
To her eyes so brown,
A friend beyond passion
When no ones around,

A believer of the doubted
With no doubts to believe,
To give gift after gift
With no gifts to receive,

To be taken for granted
And no grants to be taken,
To be strong and aggressive
When all else is shaken,

To love and except me
Through her dreams made fade,
No where else on earth
Has a better MOM been made,

I LOVE and respect you
Your world re loves mine,
And I'll always love you
Long as God permits time,

Your precious and rare
As silver and gold,
And loved as a small child
Though so seldom told,

Although time may take me
And give to another,
My heart remains forever
Beside the WORLDS GREATEST MOTHER.
